Probiotic Cottage Cheese

How do you support your digestive health?  Do you rely on yogurt for your daily dose of probiotics?  Well did you know that there are some cottage cheese brands that also contain live and active cultures?



Probiotic cottage cheese makes a great snack anytime of the day, especially at bedtime because it is low in carbohydrates and sugar and high in protein.

Horizon Organic Low-fat cottage cheese is a great choice

1/2 cup serving offers 100 calories, 2.5 grams of fat (1.5 grams of saturated fat), 4 grams of carbohydrates, 4 grams of sugar, 14 grams of protein, 20% calcium

Not a fan of cottage cheese? You can make a protein-packed ranch dressing with cottage cheese too. 

Check out this easy recipe.

1 Cup Cottage Cheese
3-4 tsp. Buttermilk Ranch Dressing mix (powder)


1/4 C. water (or milk if you prefer: Milk will add more calories) add more water if the consistency is too thick for your liking.
Add ingredients to blender or food processor and blend until smooth. (About 3 min.) Enjoy!
